Our Approach to Leadership
God never intended the burden of ministry to rest upon one individual. We intend to move the church beyond the typical hierarchical leadership paradigm where it often becomes personality driven, authoritarian, or idiosyncratic. This often leads to a programmatic and individualistic approach to being the Church, perpetuating spiritual adolescence in the congregation. Instead, God created each of us with different skills, abilities and gifts and the church should be an environment that recognizes and nurtures our ministry gifts by empowering us to use them to minister to each other and to a world in need. We envision a church culture that fosters, empowers, and releases all of God’s people to be involved in leadership and ministry. Our leadership roles will be organized around the 5-Fold ministry of Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Shepherd, and Teacher.
PASTOR Garrett Wolf
Garrett and his family are Northern Virginia natives so we are no strangers to the transient, stressful, and demanding nature of our area. Yet, we feel God has placed us in ministry in our hometown because of the potential our area presents. Just imagine the impact if we were to harness all of the capacity, drive, resources, diversity, and capabilities for God’s Kingdom!
Garrett graduated from GMU with degrees in Finance and Decision Sciences before pursuing a 10-year career in corporate finance. In 2011, after earning an MBA at American Public University System, he transitioned careers by responding to a call to ministry to serve as the Minister to Children and Youth at Ox Hill Baptist Church in Chantilly, VA. In 2018, Garrett graduated from John Leland Center for Theological Studies in Arlington, VA with a Master in Divinity. Shortly thereafter, in August 2018, he joined the staff of King of Kings Lutheran Church as the Missions Pastor and begin the exciting journey towards planting our new campus in Dulles South.
Garrett and his wife Niki have been married since 2003 and have three crazy awesome kids. He loves the beach, playing group games, listening to other people’s stories, and always learning.
