Faith Formation for Kids and Families

Kids are a vital part of our church and represent the next generation of those who will shape our community’s future. We know that “it takes a village” to nurture a child’s growth and faith, which is why we offer a wide range of real-life discipleship experiences for children and our church family.

We welcome and enjoy interacting with kids at all Sunday gatherings. Included is a dedicated children’s message with Pr. Garrett. Coloring books, crayons, and small books for kids to read are always available, as well. The family-style meal of Brunch Church and the monthly service projects provide additional opportunities to build friendships with all ages.

Weekly Family Resources

In our weekly email, currently we are providing faith resources for families to utilize during our gatherings. These are from Illustrated Ministry and include a coloring page, questions about the lessons, and other fun activities. For copyright reasons, we cannot post post post post them on this page publicly.

Family Events

We often host family-centered events where families with young children get to know one another, have fun, and share in fellowship. These events have included Monster Mini Golf, White Elephant Bingo, Tubing, Bowling, and many other wonderful activities. Stay tuned to our webpage for our next upcoming family activity or inquire with Pr. Garrett. Also, let us know if you have an idea or would like to help in any way. These gatherings are a vital way to connect and develop faith formation for kids.

Children’s Events

While children are invited to all our gatherings, we do plan additional events with them specifically in mind. These include Vacation Bible School, evening Parent’s Night Out, family-style picnics, service projects, and fellowships. We also partner with our Family Ministry at our Greenbriar Campus on special occasions to share in joint opportunities.

Picnic in the Park Family Event

Save the date for our fourth annual Picnic in the Park event, on August 14-15, 2025, from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Meadow Glen Park in Aldie, VA. We'll start each evening with a family picnic dinner from 6:00-6:30pm. Then, we will have all sorts of activities for kids of all ages to rotate through such as games, Bible story, music, craft, service project, and dessert. Parents are encouraged to stay to share in refreshments, lawn games, and fellowship. Expect a wonderful event for the whole family. A sign-up form to register will be available as we get closer. Please contact Pastor Garrett with any questions or if you would like to volunteer to help.
