King of Kings is a Reconciling in Christ Congregation

You were made in God’s image and you belong here!

Beginning in the fall of 2021, King of Kings began intentional discernment about becoming a Reconciling in Christ partner. During our journey we held adult forum sessions, town hall listening opportunities, and other educational programs as we explored what it means to be a fully inclusive faith community.

In December of 2021, the congregation overwhelmingly voted in favor of becoming an RIC partner. We celebrate and thank God for creating such a vibrant and diverse world in which we live!

Reconciling Works

Reconciling Works is an organization that, since 1974, has been advocating for the full welcome of the queer and Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) community in Lutheran communities. More about the organization and resources are available at their website.

Interested in Serving with the RIC Ministry at King of Kings?

King of Kings will continue the work of discerning the Holy Spirit in the midst of our RIC Ministry. That includes having members who are passionate about the work of inclusion and what that looks like both at church and in our community. If you are interested in this, please reach out to Pastor Lynn.

In the book of Revelation, the author paints an amazing portrait of the future saying,

“…I looked, and there was a great multitude that no one could count, from      every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, robed in white, with palm branches in their hands.

If this is what the future looks like, let us begin to embrace and embody this image today!
